I can't believe its going to be 2014! Honestly 2013 was quite a rough and bumpy road for me. Although this is, I'm still thankful because I've learned so much and now I can grow from it. Which is why I can't wait for 2014 to start!!!
People usually see New Year's as a day to start a new. Figuring out what you've got do, change, take away and keep. I find resolutions and learnings to come hand in hand. With that said, here are my top 10 New Year's resolutions and learnings that I've got to sync in my head:

1. Release your inhibitions. Don't be afraid and just go for it! Success comes when you go out of your comfort zone and life is too short to be scared to do anything right? Also, don't hold back! If you're going to do something, might as well do it whole heartedly with 110% effort.
2. Change is inevitable. 2013 has been the most change I've experiened. Whether it was good or bad, you can't stop it. It was scary because what will happen to you is unknown. All you can do is go with the flow, have hope, trust and faith that everything's gonna be alright.
3. Appreciate the little things in life. When I have a lot going on, I tend to forget or take forgranted the little blessings I have. If you realize what these are, then nothing could bring you down.
4. Your family and friends are always there for you. I don't think I could have gone through each and every year without my family and friends. I am so thankful to have these wonderful people in my life and I hope I get to return the favor. You know who you are! ;)
5. Health is wealth. In terms of career, there were times when I feel like what I do is never enough and I always have to do better. Always pushing and pressuring myself that I have to be more successful in what I do. Like I'm always chasing or competing with someone. Thus, my health suffered - a lot. I forget to eat, I don't get enough sleep and I don't get my weekly dose of exercise. I've learned more than ever this year that your health is priceless. Your health should be a top priority.
6. Overthinking leads to negative thoughts. Cut the part of your brain that causes you to overthink. Overthinking seriously can and will ruin you. Ruins the moment or situation, twists things around, makes you worry and just makes everything much worse than it is. You gotta quit thinking so much. If it feels right, then it probably is so just go with it.
7. Forgive and let go. What's done is done. Its all in the past. Don't forget it though, just learn and let go because you wouldn't want the same thing to happen again. Making amends with people could seriously take a way a lot of that weight your feeling. I mean, why go through life with enemies and grudges right? This doesn't just go for other people though, but also yourself.
8. Forget what other people say. This has been a big problem of mine for quite awhile. There are times when my confidence boosts up and I'm able to get through it. Unfortunately, most of the time I curl up in my shell and start to overthink every single word. Obviously this is not okay. All I could say is be strong and confident. As long as you know what you're doing is right and you love it then screw what other people think. Plus, why would you want to live in a world where everything you do is under someones magnifying glass?
9. Think positive. I could be a cynical pain in the ass to myself and to others. When something is said about me, right off the bat I think of it negatively. I don't know if I'm just really sensitive, but its something that I definitely have to get out of my system. Just gotta think happy thoughts.
10. Every second is a new second. Just because its monday (the start of a new week), the 1st (the start of a new month), or New Year's doesn't mean that's the only time you could change and be better. Starting now think, "Every second you could start a new". Yes it may seem bipolar or weird at times, but atleast you know in yourself that right at that very second - you are better. It shouldn't take you a day, a week, a month or a whole year to change what you think is wrong.

This post is very personal and dear to me, but I wanted to share this with you guys hoping it would help someone or someone could relate to it. Ofcourse, all these are through my perspective and it's definitely a lot easier said or written than done. Anyway, whether 2014 has a lot obstacles, challenges and change for me - I sure hope I get through 'em all and I'm sure you will to.
